About

Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation is committed to supporting and advocating the arts and sciences. Current initiatives include awards for visual artists, as well as The Ojai Institute, an artist-residency program in Ojai, that extends the dialogue between artists and the public through exhibitions and programs.

Currently based in Ojai, California, the organization, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2015 by artists, family, and friends to celebrate the legacy of esteemed art patron and private art dealer Carolyn Glasoe Bailey (Click to learn more about the life and legacy of Carolyn Glasoe Bailey).

We are located at 248 South Montgomery Street in Downtown Ojai, California. Our gallery hours are Friday and Saturday, 12-4pm each day. You may also visit by appointment, please feel free to email Frederick Janka, Executive Director at fjanka@cgbfoundation.org.

Executive Director:

Frederick Janka is Executive Director of the Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation, and has over 15 years of experience as an administrator and curator in contemporary art museums and galleries in the United States and Mexico. Frederick received his Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Critical Studies from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2004. He is currently a member of the Arts Advisory Committee for the City of Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara Advisory Board for KCRW. Prior to his current role at the Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation, he was the Director of Development at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara and the Associate Director at SculptureCenter in New York. He has also worked for the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and the NADA Art Fair in New York and Miami, and for contemporary art galleries John Connelly Presents in New York, and Nina Menocal in Mexico City, and as an independent curator.
