Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation is pleased to present a series of conversations and workshops exploring the theme of experimentation and challenging conventional approaches to learning. Each of these artists are actively pushing the boundaries of how an artist “should” use material, experimenting with self-defined modes of working, and creating innovative new art forms. Artists featured: Kelly Akashi, Yassi Mazandi, and Leela Cyd.
Join us for a conversation with critically acclaimed artist Leela Cyd and Frederick Janka, Executive Director, on Saturday, November 10, for the Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation fall podcast series Learning the Wrong Way. The conversation is free and open to the public. Leela Cyd is a critically acclaimed food, lifestyle, and travel photographer based in Santa Barbara. She’s authored and photographed her own bestselling books, Food With Friends: The Art of Small Gatherings, Tasting Hygge, Cooking Up Trouble and Styling for Instagram. An early adopter of social media she has become a leading tastemaker and storyteller whose work is rooted in a love of natural, imperfect, and everyday beauty.
Immediately following the conversation, ticketed guests will join the artist for an intimate chef’s dinner.
On Sunday, November 11, Leela Cyd will offer participants the opportunity to learn first hand from a Styling for Instagram workshop that will start with a visit to the Ojai Farmer’s Market.
Reduced participation fees and scholarships are available to youth, current students, as well as professional artists based in Ojai.
