Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation Art Prize 2018: Ry Rocklen

Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation is pleased to announce the 2018 Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation Art Prize winner, Ry Rocklen. The prize consists of a $10,000 unrestricted grant, a residency and an exhibition project, both in Ojai, California. The artist’s exhibition project, titled Pixievision, will be on view July 1 – September 4, 2018.

Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation Art Prize Gala will take place on Saturday, June 30 at a private residence in Ojai. Tickets are available starting at $150 and will include a cocktail reception, chef’s dinner, and award ceremony. Ry Rocklen lives and works in Los Angeles, where he was born in 1978. He has been the subject of solo exhibitions at galleries and institutions both stateside and abroad. His work is included in the collections of the Hammer Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He was featured in the 2012 iteration of Made in L.A., the Biennial exhibition at the Hammer Museum, the 2008 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and most recently featured in The Arcades: Contemporary Art and Walter Benjamin at the Jewish Museum in New York, and L’Institut d’esthétique Dans le cadre de La Manutention at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
