Brian Calvin in Conversation

 

Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation presents a public podcast with the artist Brian Calvin, in conversation with Frederick Janka, Executive Director. This event is free and open to the public.

Brian Calvin is a painter who lives and works in Ojai, California. He received his MFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and has been included in numerous exhibitions at galleries and institutions worldwide. Recent solo institutional exhibitions include Così fan tutte for the Gallery Met at the Met Opera in New York (2018); End of Messages at Le Consortium, Dijon, France, and Mu.ZEE, Osten, Belgium (2015). He was featured in the seminal 2002 painting exhibition Dear Painter, paint me, curated by Alison Gingeras, at Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna, Austria; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France, and Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. His work has also been included in exhibitions at MOCA The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach; Seattle Art Museum, Seattle; MCA San Diego, San Diego; Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo, Norway; PLATEAU, Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea; CAPC Museé d’art Contemporain de Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France, and Tate St Ives, St Ives, among many others.
